OUR JOURNEY

Prisma International Corporation through the years since its inception on 12.12.2012

UNC EMBA 2012

New Beginnings

From graduation at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School 2-year EMBA program. the idea of a start-up was born. The dedicated study team formed by Erika, Karna, Ben, Dave, Sean, and Maria was named Prisma after rejecting Dave's "Ubuntu" proposal. This name was introduced by Maria, one of the members, who connected to the symbolism the name represented. "Prisma" was used to launch a business venture by one of its members, Maria D. Craig our Managing Director who believes the MBA program was the best investment she has made in her career.

LANGUAGE SERVICES DIVISION

A natural fit for our bilingual skills

This is how the language division started.

Steve Jobs started in his garage. Maria Craig started in her dining room which was used for tutoring to generate initial cash flow.

The room turned into a classroom and eventually we moved to an actual office space. Our first clients were minority students with LEP parents then services expanded to high school students trying to pass their AP Spanish exam and professionals learning a second language for leisure or their work in medical settings.

Maria Craig was the lead trainer for Duke University's Physician Assistant Program for Medical Spanish for the Spring Electives: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced

TAKE A LEAP OF FAITH

Trust your talents and stamina

01 June 2013 was the date when we move from the dining room turned classroom into an office rental space. As the business grew, the company needed to move to provide clients the comfort they deserved.

We worked 24/7 to accommodate clients anywhere.

We took a leap of faith, trusting our talents and drive.

In 2020, Prisma expands through 4 sites in three continents.

THE FORUM

As Prisma grew, our location expanded

More clients required more space for classes and tutoring and interpretation courses. We moved in 2015 to the Forum I.

The location was more convenient for late night guests with multiple retail shops and ease at parking. The conference rooms here could accommodate larger classes and had a more personal feel.

Our Bridging the Gap classes became more popular when we moved to a more accessible location.

THE QUEEN BUILDING

Big dreams, big city ... expanding in Atlanta, GA

The consulting division launched in 2015 with initial instructional design and strategic business planning for a small consultancy that needed support in Canada for two clients in service (McRae Electric) and manufacturing (Tycrop Trailers). Read more about one of our first consulting clients.

With international travel and a broader network of clients, we expanded operations into the Queen Building in 2018. The views and amenities were adequate for our new consulting clients, and the location was just a 30-min drive to ATL airport, the busiest passenger airport in the world.

We could travel to Canada, Mexico and all North American locations from here.

TRUST

Puchi and Ramonita Pichardo

It takes only one person to give you an opportunity to prove that you can help them achieve their dreams, grow, and see what's possible. Ramona and Puchi were the very first students at Prisma. Classes were held at Maria Craig's home dining room and soon migrated to a actual rental space. Our start-up was not in a garage, it was a dining table and nook. We are grateful for their trust which represented the first cash flows of the company.
